MONTHLY BULLETIN OF THE HEAD OF SCHOOL – SERIES 2010

August marks the anniversary of India’s independence.

As we incorporate ‘freedom’ into the working of the Montessori classroom, we remind ourselves that we are giving to the children the freedom to choose their own activities at their own pace and hence develop confidence and independence.

We have had some good monsoon mornings where the children were able to enjoy and experience the rain. Kites will now replace the umbrellas as we celebrate Teej a festival that heralds the festive season in India. Raksha Bandhan, that comes every year in the month of sawan, follows this.

Dates for your diary:

Teej 12th August
Independence Day 9am to 11.30pm.
Raksha Bandhan 24th August (holiday)

Sports Centre:
The sports centre will reopen after the 15th of August when the weather improves, Programmes and timings will be sent to all parents prior to that date. All information will also be posted on the website.

Securtiy and Traffic Control:
Security passes have been issued to all parents. For the system to be efficient, staff have been instructed that no exceptions be made. I appreciate in advance your understanding of the need for this. The school has employed two sets of guards for security and to control the traffic situation outside the school. I have written to you on many occasions to please adhere to the “park and walk” rule. In the interest of the safety of your children please may I remind you all, yet again, that no cars are allowed to stop in front of the gates.
It would be of great convenience to all the magic years cars if we could use the street in front of the school as a one way street at drop-off and pick-up time.
i.e. enter E-3 from E-1 side and exit from E-8
On many occasions traffic coming from both sides causes a hold up which is most inconvenient for all involved. Kindly adhere to this suggestion and instruct all drivers to do the same.

Finally:

No mobile phones are to be operated inside the school premises.
